Here's the problem - Macromedia Flash shows player and controls,  but dosn't show any content. (this is for the viewing of a foran site.)I think the problem lays in the "Embed" Tag used on some sites, since the problem only happens on afew sites seen.

• Why can't I create it in VWD?
• Why does it work fine for BING and other search engines?
• Why when I create a plain text file in VWD, is it stored as anything other than plain text?
• Sorry, what you suggest is a workaround, which is fine, but workarounds are for bugs.  What I'm doing here is notifying people of a bug.

Need help creating a voting poll on website.
I have to create a "Voting" poll on the front page of my homepage. Also want to create something that will store the votes that are selected. Maybe even store what question i was asking and the number of votes for the answers associated with that question.I do not have very much experience with html/php/etc. I have seen alot of websites that you can make a voting poll and put their code in your website but in some way it links their website to your website and i dont like that, so i was wondering if anyone could possibly lead me in the right direction of making my own. I use Dreamweave for my html editing needs... Any help is appreciated, thanks!-David

Hi David, Yes, I don't like the ones that use another website either. So that means you need to install one of the ones that runs on your website to a DB on your website. PHP and MySQL are very common so I put a link to the following page that lists out a bunch of em:http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/Polls_and_Voting/more9.html

In Windows- right click on the curent graphic goto  Properties click , click on Change Icon , goto where you have the icon you want click on the icon.  (the icon you use should be on your hard drive.)

Hi Board, , , I had an e-commerce website and the problem in question is this., , When users brose the products, they had and small thumnails with and INFO>> link and a BUY NOW button (like the major e-commerce sites), , When user click on INFO>> I had a Javascript that open a new browser window to sow detailed information of the product and with the corresponding BUY NOW button again. This work fine. What I need is that when user click on the button (BUY), close the active window and return to the previous calling an ASP procedure in other page., , How cat I achive this? Big Grin!

Make sure you keep all sensitive data as secure as it needs to be and if you're creating your own ecommerce software and not implementing an already built solution (shameless product plug: Prestwood Software's ASPSuite product has a fully built and customizable eStore module) be sure to keep a potential customer in mind and make the experience as easy as possible.

Frustrating browser issues
Here is the site I am working on for myself., http://www.lanedesignonline.com , As is often the case it looks good in some browsers but has problems in others. There are a few problems I haven' been able to figure out. I will list them by browser, , IE6 for Windows, The background image for my navigation bar isn't showing up in IE6, does anyone know why? Also the red color for my footer seems to bleed up into my columns on everypage but the homepage., , Firefox for OSX, Adds a ton of space to the bottom of my container., , Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Phil,I apologise for the tardy reply.I've viewed your site in both IE7 and FireFox 2.0.0.4.  It looks like you've solved the problems.Your site looks great (and the same), in either browser.Nice work.

images in Microsoft FrontPage 2000
Laying out single-page HTML notices with FrontPage 2000. These E-notifications are intended to be sent by e-mail. Most images come through OK, however, when I place an image or animation in a table as a background for that table (i.e. to overlay type or images within the table) the background image does not show up when e-mailed to others. Mine looks fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

No problem, glad my input helped out. It sounds like you're past it now. , , For others and completeness up here, to correctly embed an image in Frontpage and email it, just make sure the graphic is on the web some place and use a fully qualified URL.

Yeah, it probably was a bit high even for back in 2000. We ended up cancelling the project because it was cost prohibitive.

One last note: drop the dashed line at the end of the CSS, that may also cause your browser to flip out.
