Mike has established himself as a leader in the computer industry. He is author of six computer programming books including "Paradox 9 Power Programming: The Official Guide" and "Paradox 7 Programming Unleashed". Mike is also co-chair of the Sacramento Delphi User Group. Mike's latest book contribution is WordPerfect Office2000 for Linux. As an author, Mike's goal is to publish one article a month and one book a year. Since 1993 he has published 6 books so he needs to make up two books at some point.
Mike currently specializes in Borland's Delphi and object oriented analysis and design using PSDP.

Born on January 8, 1965, Mike and his brother Brian grew up in Milpitas, CA. Their father, Lester E. Prestwood, Jr. is a retired psych tech and an avid golfer. Their mother, Leslie A. Prestwood, is a retired schoolteacher.
Mike began programming computers at age 15 when his brother Brian introduced him to programming with the following two line basic program:
10 print "Hello World"
20 goto 10
In 1984, Mike started Prestwood I.T. Solutions under the name of Software Supplement and distributed public domain software for the Commodore 64, 128, and CP/M computers. In 1992, Mike joined Borland International and worked with ObjectVision, Paradox, and Delphi. In 1993, Mike published his first book, "What Every Paradox Programmer Should Know". In addition to his love of computers and software, Mike is an avid reader and enjoys playing golf and camping.
Mike was married in 1989 to Lisa Jane Unsicker-Prestwood. The couple has two children: a daughter, Felicia Robin Prestwood, born in 1991; and a son, Nathan Michael Prestwood, born in 1996.
