Take Away:

Listing of Paradox features NOT available in Paradox Runtime.

The following Paradox features are not available in Paradox Runtime.

Interactive Features Disabled

Paradox Runtime removes user access to the following items normally available through menu items and toolbar buttons. You can still perform these operations using ObjectPAL, but you cannot use ObjectPAL to restore these features.

  • View and edit tables interactively (you must go through a form, report, or script)
  • Create and restructure Tables
  • Designing forms and reports interactively (ObjectPAL can still open design windows, but they appear empty)
  • Corel PerfectExpert
  • Tools, Utilities and Tools, Table Repair
  • Preference settings that customize the designer windows
  • Edit, Developer Preferences settings that customize the ObjectPAL Debugger and Explorer windows
  • Interactive QBE (you can still execute QBE files, and SQL files, with ObjectPAL)
  • String list editor (Paradox 10 and above)
  • Paradox Experts
  • Graphics filters (.cdr, .cpt, .wpg, .cmx, .png, .pcd, .wmf, and .emf)

ObjectPAL Features Disabled

The following ObjectPAL features are disabled in Paradox Runtime. If you try to use them, you will get an error.

  • Constants for items disables are not available (they cause an error)
  • Some System type procedures are unsupported.
  • Some DataTransfer type procedures are unsupported.
  • TableView type methods and procedures are unsupported.
  • You cannot create, edit, or debug ObjectPAL code. However, tracing is available in Paradox Runtime.
  • OLE 2.0 server capabilities (you can use other OLE servers with the OleAuto type though)
